Sometimes YouTube automatically picks a not-so-flattering thumbnail image for your video. Don't fret - it's super easy to choose another one.
Once you've navigated to the edit page of your YouTube video, scroll down to the 'Custom Thumbnail' section and choose the image you'd like to represent your video. Or you can also upload a new one. Click “Upload Thumbnail”. Then, select the file for the new thumbnail and click “Save”.
And you’re done!

That’s all it takes to change your video’s thumbnail image. You can repeat the process if you ever have to change it again in the future.
